The security, and well-being of Shelton's citizens rest with several city departments. Police and Fire protection, medical and health services, youth services and public assistance ensure that our residents are properly protected and cared for. During 1998, the City created an Office of Public Safety and Emergency Services. One of the major initiatives of the new effort in Public Safety was to provide for the coordination of our Police, Fire, Emergency Medical Services, and Emergency Management. The City of Shelton has taken the forefront in providing for a coordinated effort of Public Safety agencies with an eye toward creating a more efficient and effective delivery of services.

Departments

The Zoning Board of Appeals meetings are held the third Tuesday of each month, unless otherwise indicated. Meetings are held in the Auditorium at Shelton City Hall, at 7:30pm, and are open to the public.
