About Registrar of Voters
The Registrar’s Office records and processes all voter registration records for the City of Shelton. We organize, staff and direct the entire election process for all referendums, primaries and elections. The office also conducts voter registration sessions throughout the year and performs a yearly canvass of Shelton Voters to keep voting records accurate and current.
Elections
While elections and registration for elections are handled locally, the Registrars' Office operates under laws of all levels of government.

Special Voter registration sessions for the November 8, 2011 Election:
- Saturday October 22, 2011 between the hours of 10:00 AM and 2:00 PM
- Tuesday November 1, 2011 9:00 AM to 8:00 PM
Voter Registration
To Register your vote in Connecticut you must:
- be a United States Citizen
- be a Resident of a Shelton
- be at least 17 years old (must turn 18 before election/primary)
- have completed confinement and parole if previously convicted of a felony and had your voting rights restored by Registrar

October 25, 2011 (Registration forms must be postmarked by this date)
In-Person Registration:
November 1, 2011 9:00AM to 8:00PM
Exceptions:
Those whose rights as to age, citizenship or residence mature after the above date may apply in the office on a daily basis until the opening of the limited session on November 7, 2011 or at such limited session. (Sec. 9-19b(d))
